Perform well and worry less.Īll this to say. I do understand that some do lose their license for personal issues like drug abuse, stealing narcotics etc but that is a personal issue, not an issue due to their performance at work. Travel nurse was let go from that hospital and guess what.

There was a recent post about a Snap travel nurse running multiple pressors at high rates accidentally. thousands would lose their license every day. We have 4,000,000 nurses in the USA and if losing license is a real risk. Įvery now and then I do hear of a nurse in some other state that caused harm and lost license, but it is so rare that when it happens it makes the news. Maybe they do this to keep you in fear so you do what they want like extra unnecessary charting etc. It also seems that the fear of losing license is reinforced by management. It just seems like this fear is overblown. and have not known or heard of one single nurse who has lost their license. I have been a nurse for 10 years, have worked at two large hospitals, have known hundreds of nurses. Just this past week have heard this twice and just want to get yall's thoughts on it. I am a good solid nurse and it is something I don't personally think about often. As always, do not rely on Reddit alone for answers critical to your health or your career.Ī pet peeve of mine are nurses that go on and on about being careful not to lose their license.
